Two woodblock prints: Poem 71-50, edition 75/100, signed "Haku Maki" lower right, artist's seal lower left, inscribed "Happy Life" and "To be alive, to be living" in margin verso, 32 x 21-1/2 in.; framed, 39-1/2 x 28-3/4 in.
Note: Haku Maki was a Japanese artist associated with the sosaku-hanga movement of the 20th century. He studied briefly under the printmaker Onchi Koshiro following the end of WWII, and throughout his artistic career became known for his use of texture and for his striking compositions and arrangements of kanji.
