Gilbert Albert 1.60ctw Green Tourmaline and Solid 18K Yellow Gold 0.85" Earrings W/0.15ctw Diamond Accents - These lovely earrings were made by Swiss jeweler and watch designer, Gilbert Albert. The earrings were finely crafted of solid 18k yellow gold and are each embellished with a 0.80ct (approximate) oval shaped green tourmaline cabochon. Gilbert Albert is known for his use of the highest quality and unusual natural materials, and similar pieces to this have been Paraiba tourmalines. The earrings are also embellished with approximately 0.15ctw fiery white diamond accents, completing the piece beautifully. The earrings are signed with Albert's "GA" hallmark along with the gold purity "750". Measurements: 0.85" length. Gilbert Albert trained at the School of Industrial Arts in Geneva, and beginning in his mid-20s designed fine timepieces for Patek Philippe and Louis Cartier, including the iconic Cobra watch. Albert opened his first boutique in 1962 and quickly became known for his use natural and unusual materials including sea urchin skeletons, shark teeth and peacock feathers, and eventually became a 10-time recipient of the Diamonds International Award (the Oscar for the world of jewelry). Albert's work has been exhibited around the world from London to Tokyo, Johannesburg to New York and he was the first living artist since 1917 to be invited to show his creations in the Moscow Kremlin.
