American Rococo Revival Carved Rosewood Parlor Suite Attributed to J and J Meeks. John and Joseph Meeks. Stanton Hall pattern. A composite suite, comprising two settees, two side chairs, and an armchair; all with arched floral carved crests, raised on cabriole legs and casters. The seats decorated in pink and pale orange gold silk brocade upholstery. New York. Circa 1860. {Approximate dimensions: Settees 48 1/2 high x 63 1/4 wide x 37 inches deep.}. Condition: Light wear overall, excellent considering age. Some scuffs to legs. Minor fraying to settee upholstery edge. Notes: A design known to have been supplied to Stanton Hall, also known as Belfast, an Antebellum Classical Revival mansion in Natchez, Mississippi.
