Description
The shoes buckles probably date to the last decade of the 18th century. Their frames are of brass, with silver annealed to the outer faces, bearing fluted decorations, the tongue and clasp of steel, with black leather inserts. 3 x 3 7/8 inches. Together with two 19th century shoes lasts. The earlier pair is straight-last and square-toed, probably 1830s. Size 10 approx. The other is a left last, approx. size 8, late 19th century.
