A Viennese silver gilt and plique-a-jour enamel photograph frame, Georg Adam Scheid, circa 1890. In Neo-Rococo taste, the frame formed as a shaped cartouche enameled with brightly-color panels translucent enamel within gilded silver cable borders set with gilt beads, with shaped oval aperture, a shaped matted silvergilt plaque applied beneath the aperture, the photo compartment with hinged opening, the back applied with A-form gilded silver strut cast and chased with Neo-Rococo scrolls. Marked on the reverse of the hinged back and exterior of oval frame with maker's mark and 800 silver standard, the back of strut with maker's marks. 3 1/8 in. h, 2 ¼ in. w (8 x 5.8 cm).
