Huichol Yarn Art Work Painting, Jalisco,Nayarit Mexico. A brightly colored yarn art work by the Huichol people of Northern Jalisco and Nayarit, Mexico. Known for their yarn painting since the 1960s. Depicting a goddess and several animals in a ceremonial ritual. Yarn applied to plywood board. Text written on the back. Acquired in the 1970s. From the collection of Barbara Porter & Robert Wincuinas.
Dimensions are 32 in h x 31 in w x 0.25 in d. Condition is very good to excellent. Kept wrapped since acquisition. Small spot towards top and two small dents to yarn on upper right. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
