CHINESE CARVED SANDALWOOD BRACKETS, EMPEROR AND YOUNG PRINCE RIDING IMPERIAL LIONS EARLY 18TH C., PAIR H 37" W 10" D 19" Fine and early pair depicting full relief carvings of Emperor holding a sword atop an Imperial Guardian Lion holding an embroidered ball in his right paw and surrounded by foo dogs. The second shows the young prince holding a sword atop an Imperial Guardian Lion grasping a cub in her left paw and surrounded by foo dogs. Provenance: Collection of Jay Larson, Marshall, MI. Sold to benefit the Eastend Studio and Gallery, Marshall, MI.
