Description
Vincent Nicolau Cotanda (1852-1898) was a Spanish painter. He gained artistic recognition in the 1880 exhibitions organized by the recreational group El iris. In that exhibition, he obtained a silver medal for his works The Sea Needle and Preferred Flower. From its early years, the expulsion of the Moors from the kingdom of Valencia stands out. In 1883 he obtained a silver medal in the Regional Exhibition of Valencia for his work Return of the sermon.In 1884, he won a medal for the painting La vision de Fray MartÃn, a work based on the poem by Núñez de Arce.
