Hand made Banjo Barometer, signed C. AIANO CANTERBURY. Possibly antique. Has an 8 in. Barometer and liquid filled thermometer in Fahrenheit and Celsius. Olde English Colonial style with inlaid Burl wood and dyed oak. Backside has sticker label that reads John W Bennett Clockmaker Barometers Old Greenwich, CT Include paper tag that reads J. de HAAN & Son, Ltd. , Olde English Furniture. See picture. Measures 39 x 10.5 Cracking to wood consistent with heat, dryness exposures. Un tested. C. Aiano and Sons was founded in 1860 by Charles AIANO, a northern Italian Immigrant who ancestor Natalo became a prominent barometer tradesman in LONDON and in Canterbury in the later 1700s.
