Four volumes. Published by Desaint, Paris, 1769. Leather covers with gold embossed spine titles on two colored spine labels and rich floral gold embossing covering the entire spine, red edges. Language: French. Joseph Jerome Lefrancois de Lalande, 1732 to 1807, was a French astronomer, freemason and writer. These volumes are travelogue and Italian regional studies by the French mathematician, astronomer, and enlightener Joseph de Lalande, who, among other things, made a name for himself with his calculations of the orbit of Halleys comet.
