Description
Spectacular Kangxi Period Floor Vase! Painted in a cobalt blue with a dense floral pattern. The triumph of the Ming dynasty, blue and white porcelain was refined and expanded during the Kangxi period. Late 17th and early 18th century Chinese blue and white porcelain pieces are distinguished by a bright, pure white bisque body and glaze, and a sapphire blue underglaze that flowed more freely and allowed for a smooth gradient effect in contrast to earlier Ming wares. Measures 21 7/8 High x 9 1/2 Diameter, inches. Very good condition with no visible chips or cracks. On the bottom we see as separation in the porcelain created during the manufacture of this fine piece. Also on bottom a small ding in porcelain surface and wear around the center hole. See all pics for condition. Congratulations to the winning bidder!
