Huge glazed octagonal earthenware pot, the exterior with incised and raised decoration, with birds, bamboo, gingko, prunus, and flowers in gold on brown ground and with key border. The interior unglazed and with a single small drainage hole on the side near the bottom of the pot. Shows cracks and wear / in as-found condition. Perhaps a huge pot for making and storing fermented eggs, or possibly a large tub, garden pot, or fish bowl. Likely 19th century. Approx. 26 1/2" H, 39 1/2" diameter at widest point.
