Hunt," in the original vintage Chinoiserie carved and gilt wood frame. Height of frame 27 inches (68.5 cm.) X width of frame 23 3/4 inches (60.3 cm.). Approximate height of art 19 inches (48.2 cm.). NOTE: Never having been to China, Esther Hunt will be remembered for her extraordinary depictions of the Chinese Immigrants she observed in the "Chinatowns" of Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York where she studied in 1905 with William Merritt Chase. The extraordinary early 20th Century frame is carved in accurate Chinese style with figures of a Beheading, Mandarin cutting Fish, Buddha, various Lohans and Pagodas.
