Description
This figural cigar cutter, advertising George W. Childs cigars, made by the Homan & Co., New York. The cutter was manufactured by M. E. Moore & Bros Co., cast out of pot metal, showing a figural George Childs standing next to a sundial cutter, clearly marked "Smoke George W. Childs Cigar", both on the front relief as well as the top of the sundial, with fully operational spring-loaded cigar cutting mechanism. It has original copper flash plating with some areas of plate loss and oxidation, no breaks, cracks or repairs, but missing the bottom plate where the cigar tips fall into, which has been replaced with a cork. Proceeds from the sale of this lot are being donated by the consignor to the Fayette Regional Humane Society in Washington Court House OH. Condition: (Good). Item Dimensions: 10 - 3/4" x 9" x 4 - 1/2".
