Vintage Sterling Mexican Jet/Onyx Brooch Pendant, 2" by 1.5". Scrolled frame around a bezel set 40mm by 27mm black stone that is believed to be jet but could be onyx. The weight is18.98 gr. which is lighter than what a stone of that size would be if it were onyx. It is marked hecho en Mexico and sterling 925 with an M behind that and over that is a partial maker's mark stamp. It has a ring added to be a pendant with a pinback. This had a locking pin back but the locking mechanism is not there but the two C parts of the clasp are and it works fine as a c clasp. Good to very good condition, some light wear. Age is appx. 1950's-1960's. (INV.82121.1X8 SS5550 J LMV LD 8/26/21).
