Mountain Stream by Thomas Hill McKay (1874-1941) is a beautiful large oil on canvas landscape. Signed lower right T.H. MCKAY. Art is in intricate wood frame with stretchers and backing on verso. Painting from front measures approximately 35.5 inches (w) by 27.5 inches (h) and approximately 42.5 inches (w) by 34.5 inches (h) from outside of frame. McKayÂ’s rarest works are considered ones of Scotland where he started his career before moving to Los Angeles in 1923. Up to his death in 1941, McKay was very active and is known for his marine and landscape scenes both of the United States and of Scotland as well as his illustrations.
