Description
Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro Civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A lovely, wheel-thrown pottery bowl presenting a petite, circular base, a rounded bottom, and impressively thin walls that gently flare outwards to a broad, annular rim. Enveloped in a hue of pale orange, the ancient vessel features black-painted decoration of 4 horizontal bands and a central register of repeated vertical angled striations on its exterior. An additional coat of black paint further adorns the interior of the rim. A simple yet attractive example of Indus Valley pottery! Size: 4.1" Diameter x 2.5" H (10.4 cm x 6.4 cm)
