An extremely rare and original horse drawn wagon from the Willson Brothers Monarch Remedies of Edgerton Wisconsin. Willson Brothers started out as drug store in 1882 by Dexter and Benjamin Willson located in Edgerton Wisconsin. Their remedies and patent medicines proved so popular that salesmen in wagons soon pedaled their products across the country. This wagon was found in a barn near Edgerton in the 1960's and has been in the Lorenz wagon and carriage collection since that time. It is in all original untouched condition. The wood wheels with iron tires are in solid condition. Rear wheels measure 46" tall, front wheels 38" tall. Both sides of the wagon have a slide open door. The front has a window which opens. The rear of the wagon has 2 hinged doors with original simple latch. The interior has a set of 6 fitted wood drawers for product storage. The drivers seat has the original button and tuft leather seat which lifts out for storage underneath. The back doors open to reveal 8 fitted product drawers. The original hand painted graphics are faded but match the included circa 1890's photograph exactly. The original whip holder and hand brake are intact. The box measures 7' long, 38" wide. To the outside of the wheel hubs measures 70". Overall the wagon measures 82" tall. In addition to the 2 enlarged vintage photographs of the wagon and the unidentified salesman is an original bottle of Willson's Monarch Remedies. Original patent medicine peddlers wagons are almost non existent and few survive outside of museum collections. No driving gear included. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
