Description
amphora form, with two handles formed from acanthus leaves,extending from the head of a lion, the recto and verso featuring a wreath with a single centered gilt daisy medallion against an eggshell white ground, the rest of the body accented with gilt garland swags and geometric shapes, against a light pink ground, atop four gilt and white paws with a geometric plinth, marked with factory mark in gilt underglaze, incised numeral 3040, impressed factory mark and date code all under base; height including cover: 30 cm (11 3/4 in.)
CONDITION
The vase is in good condition. Minor surface soiling visible to the bows. One of the bows with a visible repair. Inspection under UV light shows retouching and repair to one of the bows. Repainting to the cover.
