DESCRIPTION: A Jasmin Joseph (Haitian, 1923-2005) acrylic on canvas painting. Signed and dated Jasmin Joseph 3-10-92 on the lower right corner, this painting depicts a beautiful animal promenade scene in the jungle in pastel colors. Haitian sculptor and painter, Jasmin began his career as a sculptor; the most striking figures were animals. Upset because his works were being copied Joseph turned to painting. His use of animal tales to point a moral relates to the traditions of Haitian folklore.
