Elvis Presley US Original Plastic Guitar Plus Two Rare Box Cases (Emenee,1956). What a treat to be able to offer this rare lot. In 1956, Emenee, a company specializing in musical toys, manufactured these plastic Elvis-themed guitars, emblazoned with Elvis and "Hound Dog" decals across the body. Includes the original corded strap, and even more scarce, this lot includes not only one but two original boxes. 1) Plastic guitar measures approx: 31.5 " with strings, tuning pegs and no scratches or chips. Most of the guitars had a brown back. This one is the very scarce black and grey back. Stickers are in tact with normal aging. There is some brown residue on the front and around the rim of the white face of the guitar. In overall Very Good Plus condition; 2) Brown reptile pattern box. Outside maintains good structure with handles in tact. Opens to reveal the nice color image of the King. Nice graphics stating: "Easy to Play, No Lessons Needed." Shows minor staining, bending and a few tears. In overall Very Good Plus condition; 3) Alternate box featuring nice graphics. Shows staining, bending, some tearing and pencil marks on the front of the box. In Good Condition. Each box also still has the original cardboard inserts, which was used to protect the strings. Finding one of these guitars with the insert is near-impossible, much less two, as most were thrown out straight out of the box! Very displayable indeed.
