The porcelain potted in bottle vase shape, thick and tall, hexagonal globular lower body, cylindrical neck, raised on a short ring foot base with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of pavilion palace on the cliff surround with mountain rocks, Lishui rivers, dense tree, all in salubrious landscape. Many mountains in China are sacred, some to Daoist's, some to Buddhists and some to both. In folk religion each mountain has its own deity associated with it. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm.The Under - base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark.
