Description
Circa 1890, tiger oak case with broken arch pediment with (3) turned urn shaped finials. Cove molded top with raised panels with embossed ribbons and bell flowers. Hinged door with arched top flanked by Greek classical columns with capitols. Moon phase with Arabic numerals, with gold and silver washed face engraved flowers. Paneled sides, hinged door with oval beveled glass. Carved embossed shell above door with (2) classical Greek columns with capitol to sides. Corners of door have matching embossed ribbons. Clock rests on box base with paneled sides, carved embossed shell and leaves, and cove molded base resting on (4) paw feet. One of the earliest Herschede clocks known. Elliot London face, Westminster chimes, (5) tubes, original brass weights, and pendulum. 23.5w x 15.5d x 105h
