Item Details

Description

A rare and very attractively detailed enamel and brass badge marked for the Lusitania, the famous ocean liner sunk during World War I by a German U-boat in 1915. The badge depicts the Cunard lion and 'Lusitania' on a red pennant, with a ship's wheel and anchor highlighted in white and blue enamel underneath. Two-piece construction, lacking pin on reverse. It is most likely this badge dates from between 1907-1915. Measures approximately 35 x 22 mm.
