Description
1929 Childrens Books Kurt Wiese Illustrated China Australia Caldecott Newbery 7v
A delightful lot of vintage childrens books all illustrated by popular illustrator Kurt Wiese! Wiese (1887–1974) led a fascinating life, with many of his experiences – traveling in China, being captured by the Japanese during World War I, and being held as a prisoner for five years in Australia – giving him inspiration for the stories he would later write and illustrate. He was awarded the Caldecott Honor Book Award twice and the highly coveted Newbery Award for his work. Wieses colorful style pairs wonderfully with these stories of clever and heartwarming humans and animals alike.
