Description
1909 Life of Abraham Lincoln Assassination Slavery Civil War America Tarbell
“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a mans character, give him power.”
― Abraham Lincoln
A rare and highly desirable edition of the life of Abraham Lincoln by Ida Tarbell. Tarbell was just a young girl when Lincoln was assassinated; however, her fascination with his life and political career grew throughout her life. She traveled the country interviewing people who were acquainted with the former President seeking information that had previously never been published. Her biography of Lincoln did just that – published new anecdotes about Lincolns life that did appear in any of the biographies of Raymond, Barrett, or Holland.
