Description
Mozelle Thompson, "Busy Day", original artwork for the cover of the Reporter 1961, gouache on paper, signed lower right, this example includes original correspondence letters in the hand of Thompson to the purchaser of the art work dated 1963, 20.5" x 17". Note: Thompson was the first African American artist to illustrate album & book covers in the US. His works are held at the Carnegie Museum of Art. He was highly talented creating covers for albums and books, including for Martin Luther King in 1969, Gershwin and Stanly Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange to name a few. His work is highly sought after.
