Pair of Staffordshire pottery lions, circa 1840, each modeled as a recumbent lion resting on a naturalistic base with gilt accents and glass eyes. Accompanied by receipt from Antiques of Vinings, 11,28/03. Approx h 9.5", w 13", d 7".
Condition
Lion 1: Having 2 glaze skips, the underside with craquelure and an approx 2" hairline, Lion 2: Craquelure to underside, possible inpainting on back hind quarter, and replacement of one eye.
