Description
Manner of Francois Linke, French, 19th century. Rosewood veneered ormolu mounted vitrine in the Louis XV taste, having a curved top, curved glass panels, floral marquetry inlay, and rising on front cariole legs with sabots. Unmarked. Approx. h. 64.5", w. 30.5", d. 18.5".
Condition
Lock is broken/loose with two nails missing; later key; some veneer damage; left side - veneer loss near bottom with crack through floral inlay; right side - veneer loss to bottom with repair to floral inlay; front - some veneer loss to apron with oxidation to lower mount; later moulding to interior of door securing the glass; some loose mounts; wear and stains to interior; no apparent cracked glass; case is structurally sound.
