Item Details

Description

French, circa 1915, three piece bronzed spelter figural garniture set on mottled red marble bases comprising: an A.D. Mougin (French, active about 1890) clock surmounted by a figure "L' Histoire" after Julien Causse (French, 1869-1914), and two figures "Glori" and "Vici" after George Maxim (French, 1885-1940). All signed in mould with "Vici" having a Fabrication Francaise, Paris foundry mark; marks on dial rubbed. Approx. h. 27.5", w. 15.5", d. 8" (clock); h. 22.75", w. 7.5", d. 5.5"("Vici").

Condition

Damage to finger of male figure; clock figure originally holding a scroll; damage to wing on "Glori" with loose foot to base; crack to marble base of clock; key is not present - clock untested; casting imperfections; minor chips to marble edges.
