Description
Egyptian limestone head 2500 BC
Height: 8 inches (12.5" with base)
Davids notes: Worldwide experts in antiquities consulted felt the bust was one of three possibilities, a genuine bust from the Egyptian period, a very fine forgery or a genuine Egyptian head that has been reworked (re-carved) to approve its appearance.
David Killen Gallery believes it is a genuine Egyptian head from approximately 2500 BC.
Provenance: Estate of Philip and Maria Hobel, producers of the film Tender Mercies, which was nominated for 5 Academy Awards in 1983 and won for Best Picture and Best Actor (Robert Duvall).
