Japanese Kazaridana inlaid lacquer display cabinet, Meiji Period 1867 - 1912.

Japanese Nagasaki Lacquer and Coloured Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Display Cabinet (Kazaridana) on a Stand, possibly intended for export with the charming design of folding fans as the railings and one open fan shape as a shelf, four shelf tiers total, two compartments with sliding doors, three exterior drawers and an additional three drawers concealed behind two hinged doors, beautifully embellished overall in floral roundels and flora & fauna motifs on the doors, all on a black/brown lacquer ground with traces of the original gold cloud pattern overall. Mounted on a later raised black lacquered stand.
