Apprx 34 1/2" x 42" . Rhoda Yanow , one of America’s finest pastel Artists. Born in Newark NJ . She studied at Parsons School of Design and National Academy of Design. Earned numerous awards and recognition in the United States and throughout the world during her career including Master Pastelist, Hora Roth Memorial Award, Audubon Artists Silver Medal of Honor, & many more. She has been published in many books and magazines including American Artist magazine. She was an instructor at Newark Museum, The Pastel Society of America, & The duCret School of Art From September 1980 until December 2007. Teaching pastel figure & portrait paintings, and also drawing. Her art is in collections in the Pastel Society of America, Prince Albert Museum in England and numerous private collections. Yanow’s work is in the permanent collection of The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, the Pastel Society of America in New York City, The Newark Museum in Newark, New Jersey and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England , and The County of Hunterdon New Jersey. In 2003, her art was added to the collection of the first-ever museum devoted to pastel in Suzhou, China.
