Description
This is a vintage Mid-Century Modern (MCM) sterling silver dish from the 1950s. It was made for retailer George Tarratt, an English silver merchant, by renowned silversmith Geoffrey Bellamy. Bellamy was a first class honours graduate of the Royal College of Art in London when he began work with George Tarratt. He later started his own silver company and went on to win a Design Centre Award for his work. This specific tray features a horse with the tail of a fish rearing out of waves of stylized water. The side is stamped with Bellamy's initials and for sterling. The bottom bears the mark "George Tarratt English Silver" and is signed by Geoffrey G. Bellamy.
