Africa and world travels 100+ photograph collection from 1920s-1940s Missionary family. Subject matter includes village life, ceremonies, agriculture, medical clinics, government, travel sites, ecology, schools, cooking, witch doctor, baby clinic, common diseases, safari animals, churches, the arts, entertainment, architecture, cities, religious life, wildlife on their travels through South Africa, Loanda, Angola, East Africa, Alger, Congo, Africaine, Liberia, Rhodesia, Siracusa, Tangere, Teneriffe, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Provenance: from Taylor University's Mabel P. Michel Collection. Proceeds benefit Taylor University endowed scholarship funds. Mabel was born in 1904 on a farm near Cresco, Iowa. She served as a missionary to Mozambique from 1930-1973, including furloughs under the Women's Foreign Missionary Society. During vacations she taught classes to girls in the villages and did some traveling to many places in Africa, including Rhodesia, Congo, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Egypt. 4" x 6" (one photograph)
