DESCRIPTION: A late 19th century French inlaid marquetry side table, in the Louis XVI style, with marquetry inlaid panels to the top depicting knights weaponry and a book displaying an inscription that reads "Olivier de Clison". Designed with a bronze open work gallery, three marquetry inlaid drawers above an under kidney-shaped stretcher tier, also embellished with inlaid decorations depicting an inkwell and a book with the inscription "Historie des Grands Roys" (The history of Great Kings). The table is raised on four cabriole legs, terminating in ormolu feet, and is finished to front and back. With makers : "E. Diens Paris" stamp on the underside.
