Cannonball from Van Diemen's Land (named after Anthony van Diemen, Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies who had sent the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman on his voyage of discovery in the 1640s, becoming the first European re-discoverer of Australia

The British settlement on the island was eventually re-named to the current "Tasmania". The cannonball comes from the time of the British Colony established on the island, Nineteenth Century.
