Cut by Anderson, "Columbia" uses a center cluster of plain button hobstars that are part of a larger 8-point hobstar. This style of motif was used on the center of four-motif "Anne" patterns. "Constellation, and in the patented "Kite" design. The overall pattern features some similarity to Libbey's "Lenox" with its comet like swirls. Anderson traits on this piece include 16 to 20 point plain button hobstars with the unusual added fan embellishment as used on Libbey's "Neola". Larger items such as this fine ice cream tray will add additional hobstars in the "V" shaped areas, and may add an additional flat hobstar at the base of the large rim hobstar under the fan, a scarce and beautiful piece, 10 1/4 X 17 1/2".
