Antebellum New Orleans Coin Silver Pitcher and Ladle
ca. 1855, by Hyde & Goodrich,
the pitcher with a pear-shaped body, annular collar, bulbous calyx, integral spout, circular foot and double "C"-scroll handle, decorated with repousse rococo cartouches of floral bouquets flanking a central bucolic scene, with rococo scrolls throughout, no monograms, h. 13", dia. 6-3/4", l. 9-1/4"; together with
a fiddle thread ladle with flat, round bowl, monogrammed "CBF", l. 12-1/4".
Provenance: Private collection, New Orleans, Louisiana.
