Condition
**Nice detail in deep relief. Electrotype bronze construction with the handles and foot formed separated and bolted (some later replacements). Some losses to the silvering at the highest relief (i.e. the beards of the masques, the nose and paws of the lion pelt, etc.). Marked on the basal edge "A.D." with a laurel leaf. The liner has significant pitting, a thumbprint-sized dent and two repaired holes at the bottom with some splits on the rim; it is probably copper and has been re-silvered at least once, with a 2" x 3" area of loss to the silvering on the bottom.
