Description
Egypt, Late Period, dating to approximately 664-323 B.C. Solid cast bronze statue of Osiris, god of the afterlife, bearded, mummiform and holding the crook and flail. He wears plumed crown with uraeus at the front, the snake's tail rising atop the crown. The tenon on the underside would have attached the piece to an original wooden base, now lost.
