Four Military Docs, Ca. 1834-1849 Re: Affairs with Indians & Training

A group of four military documents dating from around the time of the Second Seminole War (1839-1842) and the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). All four are of varying sizes, dating from 1834-1849, and include a signed letter, general orders, and two military records. All have flattened folds, with some separations in places. Varying amounts of toning, soiling, and foxing. Overall very good. Includes:

1. General Orders No. 25 signed "O.F. Winship A.A.G." 1p, measuring 7.75" x 9.75", Troy, New York, dated September 13, 1849. Instructing that three officers of the 3rd Artillery be sent to Fort Adams for instruction in the school of the battalion.
2. Autograph Letter Signed "H.H. Dyer." 1p of a bifolium, measuring 7.75" x 9.75", Marcy, dated May 12, 1834. Responding to a letter from Major General F.E. Spinner concerning their old general.
3. 1st Infantry Fort Scott Post Return signed "John W.B." and "O.F. Winship A.A.G." 2pp, measuring 23" x 9.25", Fort Scott, dated Ca. September 1843. A partially printed form sheet detailing the men of the company, including name, rank, duty, leave, remarks, etc., and including two instances of men being wounded or killed by encounters with Native Americans.
4. Clothing Allowance for U.S. Army. 1p, measuring 15.75" x 7", No place, undated. Entitled "Table specifying the money value of clothing allowed to the Army of the United States" for years 1-5. The document states "The allowance to Volunteer troops is at the rate of $42 per annum."
