Broad Landscape with Grazing Cows and Distant Hills
Signed and dated "HANS HEYSEN 1938" l.l.
Watercolor on paper, sheet size 12 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. (32.5 x 40.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Scattered pale foxing, subtle toning and rippling.
Provenance: A Massachusetts estate.
N.B. Wilhelm Ernst Hans Franz Heysen was born in Hamburg, Germany. He migrated to Adelaide in South Australia with his family in 1884 at the age of 7 and became a successful artist, painting and drawing the landscape of his adoptive country.

Signed and dated "HANS HEYSEN 1938" l.l.
Watercolor on paper, sheet size 12 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. (32.5 x 40.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Scattered pale foxing, subtle toning and rippling.
Provenance: A Massachusetts estate.

Condition
Condition: Framed dimensions are 23 x 26 x 1 1/4 inches.
Two very tiny white dots in the sky that are actually small surface nicks/losses or perhaps surface imperfections in the sheet itself.
The reverse of the sheet shows traces of an old backing. The watercolor is professionally framed and is hinged to the back supporting sheet in two places along the top edge of the reverse. The supporting sheet is affixed to the window mat with linen tape or similar.
