5 ft. 5 1/2 x 40 1/2 x 22 in.Note: An identical Tall Chest of Drawers is Illustrated in The Knight of Glin and James Peill, Irish Furniture, plate 207, as by Theophilus Jones and circa 1767. 'It is currently located in the National Museum of Ireland. It is one of few labeled pieces of Irish 18th century furniture. Accordingly to the label, Theophilus Jones of Mountrath Street, 'Makes and Sells, all kind of Desks, Tall-boys, chairs, Tables and every article in the Mahogany way'. The label was printed in 1767, in the same street as his workshop. Between 1774 and 1777 Jones is recorded at 33 Mary Street, therefore giving us a before and after date for the marking of this tallboy. Its tall narrow form is common in Ireland".

Two horizontal age cracks to the back of the cornice. Two small drawers are loose in the case. Second drawer from the bottom is slightly bowed. Bottoms of the drawers have repaired age cracks (with tape). One long vertical age crack on the right side. Much smaller age crack on the top left side. Evidence of old worming. Nicks and scuffs throughout. Replaced brasses. Good color. Structurally sound.
