DESCRIPTION: Early bronze Tibetan-style figure of Vajrasattva seated in the Bodhisattva posture on a lotus throne and holding a vajra in his right hand and a bell in his left hand. Piece is embellished with silver through the figure's body, clothing, and some accessories and with gilt accents on figure's other accessories and on lotus base; various accessories are embellished with turquoise inserts. Figure has various designs engraved on his clothing including medallion designs on his knees and foliage designs in relief on the clothing hems. Sanskrit characters are engraved on reverse side of lotus throne, flanked by a vajra and a bell; below inscription are engravings of a bell and two fenghuang (Chinese Phoenix). Marked on underside with an engraved visvavajra.
