1950s Fender Blackguard Telecaster Bridge Plate/Pickup. SERIAL NUMBER: 2393. PICKUP READS: 6.01 OHM meter reading. WIRE LENGTH: 7 inches. This is an original bridge plate along with its original lead pickup. Based on the hardware we have determined this combination of plate, pickup, saddles and screws was used in the production of Blackguards between 1950 and late 1953. The collector believes it came from a 1952 Blackguard along with the phenolite fiber Bakelite pickguard, pots, switch and jack cup that is being listed in several other lots in this auction. The only thing that is not original is the black rubber tubing that adjusts the height of the lead pickup. This lot also includes the original mounting screws and a copy of Nacho Banos book The Blackguard which has the identical serial number as the bridge plate, #2393. This book is the Bible of knowledge pertaining to Blackguard Telecasters. The book has never been opened and we will keep it in this condition. The book in the photos is another copy to show you what you are getting, mentioned for clarity. This would make a great addition to any collection, shop or home.
