Description
A vintage Italian Capodimonte porcelain figurine of an English Army Dragoon, a Soldier of the Napoleonic army 1815. Sculptured by Bruno Merli. Engraved with a motto, Dieu Et Mon Droit, God and My Right, the motto of the English, and then the British monarchy since the time of Henry 5th (1413-1422), on the base. The original spelling of the motto is in French. Signed with etching on the back. Marked with a blue ink manufacturer stamp on the bottom. Created in King Studios in Naples, Italy, home to Capodimonte and such renowned artists as Merli, Borsato, Cedrashchi, and Cappe, in the 1980s.
