Description
Most unusual antique cast iron Safe with marble top, circa 1890. Safe is made by Herring, Farrell & Sherman. Marked "251 Broadway, N.Y." Safe was made during the Victorian period and has Victorian accents on front and sides. Was made to look like an actual piece of furniture. Safe has oval door on front with hideaway lock, when open exposes key system. Safe has original cast iron wheels which are covered with a walnut molding. Has original white shaped marble top, very ornate rosewood compartments inside with both door and drawers, and gold trim. Safe measures 38 1/2"tall x 22" wide x 24" deep. Certainly the Cadillac safe of the time period. Sold with key. KING COLLECTON
