Description
1884 1ed Charles Spurgeon Puritan Baptist Preaching BIBLE Sermon Notes 3v
A rare, mid-19th-century collection of sermon notes of Charles H Spurgeon. Spurgeon was known for his sermons and devotionals designed and written to guide readers against sin and how to understand Gods grace. While his sermons themselves were easily the most iconic part of his ministry, the notes of these sermons are a valuable insight to his preparation, theology, and Baptist beliefs.
Spurgeon wrote and published these sermon-notes for other preachers to help them with their sermons. According to the preface in the first volume of this extensive work, Spurgeon states:
“I have prepared these frame-works, not to encourage [laziness], but to help a bewildered industry; and I hope that I have not written so much as to enable any man to preach without thought.”
