Mexican Animal Effigy Club or Hobby Horse, 19th C. A nicely carved piece of folk art, a heavy wooden club in the shape of a goat (although the horns could also be interpreted as the ears of a donkey). This could also be a children's toy. Provenance: Artemis Gallery, Louisville, CO, February 9, 2017, Lot 150A; ex-Private New Mexican collection. Size: 31'' x 15'' x 7'' (79 x 38 x 18 cm). Property from the Jim and Kit Horne Collection.
